Organizational and Managment Changes at Valitor
A new organizational chart has taken effect at Valitor. The changes aim to strengthen and consolidate activities within Valitor and its subsidiaries in the UK and Denmark, as well as improve group synergy. Challenging projects are ahead and the focus is to continue overseas expansion.
Administration and Human Resources is a new division within Valitor. Responsibilities include integration of activities within Valitor divisions and subsidiaries along with human resources, financial statements, planning, cost, accounting and information and facilities security. The Executive Director of the new division is Ingibjörg Arnarsdóttir. Ingibjörg has served as Executive Director of Risk Management, Finance and Human Resources since 2008. Previously she worked as a credit manager at Glitnir in 2007 and 2008. She holds a Cand.Oecon degree from the Auditing Department at the University of Iceland and M.Sc. in Finance degree from Cass Business School in London.
Birkir Jóhannsson is the new Executive Director of Finance. The division’s main tasks are strategic financial planning for Valitor and its subsidiaries, treasury management, and financial analysis. He previously worked as a corporate financial consultant in the Investment Bank Division of Arion Bank from 2010-2015. Prior to Arion Bank, he worked for Attorneys at Hofdabakki as well as Landsbankinn. Birkir holds an MCF degree in corporate finance from Reykjavík University. In addition, he completed a JD degree from the University of Iceland and is certified as a District Court lawyer.
Kristjan Thor Hardarson has assumed the role of Executive Director, Global Partnerships. The division’s main task is to manage company activities in international markets, both in terms of acquiring with foreign merchants and the issuance of payment cards to foreign cardholders. Global Payments operates a sales office in London. Kristjan joined Valitor in 2008 as Director of Marketing and Business Development. He holds a B.Sc. degree in Marketing and an M.A. in International Marketing from the University of Alabama in the United States.
